The candidate will investigate feasibility of novel lab-on-a-chip technology, specifically a sodium (Na)-chip used for monitoring sodium in urine of patients with renal failure. The project investigates how the sodium-chip can be used, how potential users experience the use of the chip, and whether the chip increases efficacy of care. In total it investigates cost-effectiveness of health care, from the point-of-view that self-monitoring will be less expensive due to decreased hospital visits.

RNA virus infections kill millions of humans annually, largely due to the lack of suitable vaccines and drugs to control them. This problem will be addressed by the EC-FP7 consortium of Europe’s and Asia’s leading molecular virologists, structural biologists, medicinal chemists and bioinformaticians, who have joinged forces to generate a state-of-the-art drug discovery and design programme.
